I Loved His Face~by Melvina Germain

I Loved His Face

I saw his face in the midst of the crowd,
and I knew his eyes had found me too.
He picked up that twenty sixer of booze,
and took a swig, one or two.
His voice was brash as he spoke out loud,
he slurred his words as drunks do.
O yes this man stood out in the crowd
but the booze spoke and took his personality
away. I’m told, I’ll never know the real man
as he lives his life pretty much that way.
