Tears of the centuries…~by Akshaya Kumar Das

Tears of the centuries…

the tear drops that fell a century back,
still bleeds my heart with the hack,
for a moment my soul travels the century back,
to catch a glimpse of the tear that’s shelved in the rack,
the prying eyes of my beloved’s mom,
never allowed us to even cry aplomb,
her roving eyes were more fixed on the tomb,
wherever we hid she found us numb,
every passing day made us miserable,
our aches in the hearts cried pitiable,
the Achilles hill’s cried with sounds feeble,
we had no way out but to behave humble,
finally one day she put the guillotine on our relation,
chopped the relation into pieces in total abnegation,
we were gasping in utter frustration,
to catch a last glimpse before final repudiation.
the century old story hunts like a ghost,
you never again dared to be my host,
in the lap of eternity that we were lost,
to remember relation that never could last.
