THE VANISHED GLORY~by Jernail S Anand

THE VANISHED GLORY

The effect time had on me
was too devastating;
I wish i had been carved
on a metal;

then, the metal would wear out
and i stay,
unafflicted by time;

i have seen old photographs
which have the power
to transcend time

and stay where they are
while time gallops by;

and look at me;
the charms i once possessed
have turned fiction;

and it has left me behind
a hollow, a shadow
stolen the substance

i don’t want to look
into the mirror
bring my my old snaps

they are much better
they have retained my youth
which i have lost to the winds
like grain of sand
