Once When You Came to Me for the First Time (Sonnet No. 77)~by Dipankar Sadhukhan

Once When You Came to Me for the First Time
(Sonnet No. 77)

Once when you came to me for the first time
And spoke to me for some time with frank mind,
My inner eye forgot to close its lid
To see your smiling face like that of kid.

Dear! you did not seem to me a stranger.
I felt as if I did know you for years.
Your fascinating beauty stole my heart
But created in mind the waves of mirth.

I’ve passed so many months, so many years
Since the day when you spoke to me, my dear!
But at present you’re in dreams of my eyes.
You’re in me speaking with my heart always.

I feel you always encouraging me
To walk on the way of poetic journey.
