A Fistful of Time~by Kanchan Bhattacharya

A Fistful of Time

When I am gone
I would be a fistful of sand
Slipping away in a stream
I would find an isle
In a blue lake of memories
Ripples frozen forever
Beckoning me to set sail
On stilled Time
A fistful of smiles
Masked in a mirage.
Would you then look back
And from the folds
Of your wrinkled clothes?

You may someday discover
A poem of sorts,
Drifting away, or dripping gently
Into the bay of salt waters
And then give me back
My long lost words
In a fistful of time
