London Frozen
Like shards of glass
it falls,
exacting revenge.
Glossing the clock tower,
hardening the Thames.
Coating trees heavily,
threatening breakage.
Slicking bridges,
roads, and paths.
Leaving journey’s perilous
for foot or tyre.
Glazing every surface,
pulling down power lines.
The city stops.
Frozen in time,
encased in every way
by freezing rain,
dropped
from coldhearted skies.
