———-blind alley——–~by Ahmer Sohail

———-blind alley——–

Have you ever —found yourself —-in a blind alley?
Where —the paths and streets —-are not made of —-brick n mortar —-
The ways —-where men of dust—- go to get to their destinations—-
Or stroll—- to smell the steps of the wayfarers —–who once strolled there—
Or stay at the corners —–to wait for the ones —–they love or hate—-
Or cross the crossroads —-opting for one way —–and discarding the others—–
Amongst them all —–are such a few —-who miss their ways—-
But they keep going—- until the road ends —-on a wall—-
Again —-made of brick n mortar—- or leading to an abyss ——
A blind alley—-
And this is not the one—- I’m referring to—-
Here——— the ways n paths ——-are made of the mortar of senses n sensibilities —–
And ——searching for their destinations ——are the words of silence—-
Silence —– deeper than a vale of voice—
Words—–louder than a cry unheard—-
Made of feelings —–
Capable of igniting an inferno or frosting a fire—–
And while conversing with the one —-just one on earth—-
Your words get into a blind alley—-not being able to find a way through—-
The conversation gets stuck—gets bogged down in a quagmire—-
And you start acting like a stupefied and stupid—-bereft of words and sanity—-
Listen —–
When a wayfarer gets in a blind alley can trace their steps backward—–
But words when find themselves in a blind alley—they die —then and there—-
