First or Last~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

First or Last

First love never dies, they say
For it’s when your heart learned to sway
Yet shouldn’t it be in last love lay
When you’re now familiar with lovers’ way

First love you came with innocence
Expectations that doesn’t make sense
Last love with all painful experience
Removed those glasses with pink lens

From west field you came with dreams
Not knowing anything about love’s whims
Passion driven to insanity’s extremes
Until reality steps in and the moon dims

You came last from the last dike
You’re aware of the treacherous hike
So only for the beautiful view you hike
Coming home alone in a lonesome bike

First Love, Last Love does it really matter
It’s the same pain when it’s all over
Yet still it is well that one waded the water
Sweet memories for one to hover
