Peach Rose~by rldubour

Peach Rose

In the garden filled with roses of all different size.
One stands out among the rest the first to catch your eye.
And as it draws you nearer the fragrance you can smell.
The rose that smells just like a peach the difference you can’t tell.
You wonder how it got this way, this rose of peach scent.
You treated them like all the rest no special time you spent.
You cut yourself a peach bouquet and put them in a vase.
And place them on the table with a smell that you can taste.
You keep this secret to yourself no one will ever know.
That you grew some peaches that are actually a rose.
When people come to visit it’s coffee and peach pie.
They will marvel at the smell of peach until they say goodbye.
And with a sheepish smile only you will know.
That just what they smell is actually a rose.
