Sadness~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Sadness

Sadness, you have become my closest kin
Spreading like lotion all over my skin
Wishing to be heard above the crowd’s din
Sadness, I want to throw into the bin

Sadness, you have a stalking wolf’s cover
Silently creeping amidst the laughter
Sadness has caused my spirit to shudder
For all the joys in my heart to shatter

Sadness, as I go searching for my beau
So elusive as an alerted doe
Sadness, I consider you as my foe
Resting my wearied soul against the bough

Sadness, as I listen to the choir’s hymn
Sadness, as I work-out inside the gym
Sadness, as I try to search for a theme
Sadness, as the devil make out his scheme.

You have been my closest kin. Oh, Sadness
Desperately seeking for Happiness.
