I Died Inside~by Norman Wilson

I Died Inside

I died inside when she died
Then the sun came up
And flooded the world
The sparrows sang melancholy
As the earth started to churn

Tears covered the horizon
In the pretence of raindrops
Over a cold cobalt sea
Giving way to my heartache
In cloudy tissues of grey

The winds whispered gently
A gentle sound of grief
Telling me it is finally over
As the leaves chattered
To the pine trees

My heart forever broken
Strewn in the breeze
As I look to the heavens
Where my pain chases the sun
For there will never be another
Love like this one
