THE THREE WORDS…………~by Rajendra Padhi

The three words I spoke years back
Fearing to be punished in your wrath,
But the line had seed of dreams
Spilling in my garden for flower of spring.

There is never an extinction of the words
In the cold cruelty and illusion of time,
A flute’s music brings my tears down
Echoing you in memory of sweet contents,
I speak of the three words in many ways
Gleaming and glowing in graceful rhymes.

Do lovers change their ways like rivers?
If ever my eyes were not cleaver to see,
A sequence of events of truth and lies
Still a treasure tempts for inward thoughts
Never had my life so meaningful,
You are the sun in my snowing lawn
The frailties of winter now never to fade.

How long it has taken to learn three words
Though burnt like wood into coal and ashes!
Blaming and praising, skipping and playing
Dying to be reborn again in endless time,
The spaces between the words like the mist
Silent to speak but gleams in moon-light.
