“Kashmir —(hell in Heaven)”~by Bhat Naieem

“Kashmir —(hell in Heaven)”

On the Banks of Dal, my eyes met
The voyagers and happy Anglers,
Singinng and swinging in boats of flowers

Shrrr, shrrr, shrrr
Music of shikara paddles
Grants tranquility, that revitalises memories of cradle

The heart stealing View
Of chaar chinar and zabarwan;
Just heaven in heaven

On questioning what lies in hamlets?
The bruised ardour; the villager
With uttermost innocence utters

“Shivering silence and lamentful woes,
Of Orphans and mothers,
And longingness of half Widows”

The Shrr shrrr shrrr veils
Flaming poor huts, sighs,
Guns and Cries

All voyagers are duped by illusion
Of the faces of this coin;
It’s just “hell in heaven”
