GRAVEYARD~by Rajendra Padhi

GRAVEYARD

Fame is bleak in the music of the sunset
A solemn hymn slits throat sinks in tears,
We lie like a field whose harvest is over
Petals to be scattered the evening waited
Silence grows in its own words each moment.

Eyes are afraid of roses in peace here
I move into the dark coffins of years,
Tearful days of parting drowns the heart
World loved man but afraid of him here
An aching secret of life darkness speaks.

People are sculptured since centuries
Covered with wayside grass, moss and fern,
Still live in this world as age old stones
Their signature for us to remember only
May be in another name we may return.

The day is silent; silent is the night here
Dry leaves fall over each stone of memory,
The parody of time keeps me smiling
My visit here is the greatness of all things.
