Reason enough~by rldubour

Reason enough

There is so much violence in this world it is so insane.

How bitter sweet this life on earth, will it ever change?

Today it seems it’s so unsafe you see it everywhere.

Wars and crime against mankind seem to fill the air.

Police are at our schools before the day’s begun.

Our streets are filled with gangs with their drugs and guns.

What is the answer? The question is not that tough.

To end the violence in our life should be reason enough.

Should we ban all alcohol from our sports events?

Because if we win the series the devil will be sent!

Then it’s ok to burn and loot with destruction and much more.

There is no rhyme or reason why they act like this I’m sure.

They change into the riot types I just don’t understand.

What justifies these senseless acts against their fellow man?

What is the answer? The question is not that tough.

To end the violence in our life should be reason enough.

Remember when we felt safe and left our doors unlocked?

With home invasions going on, make sure your gun is cocked!

Or when you could take a walk and feel that you were safe?

Today you can’t do none of that, unless you carry mace!

Our older people live in fear each day of the week.

What do we do to change all this? Is the answer out of reach?

What is the answer? The question is not that tough.

To end the violence in our life should be reason enough.

Maybe we should blame TV or the moms and dads alone?

TV shows us how to do it and moms and dads are never home.

With no one to show the discipline and direction that they need.

To teach us how to respect all others and to account for our own deeds!

To rid our minds of violence and seek a better path.

To know that life is precious and you can never get it back.

What is the answer? The question is not that tough.

To end the violence in our life should be reason enough.

  1. Reblogged this on By the Mighty Mumford and commented:

A CALL AGAINST APATHY, BUT FOR NOT A TIME TO FIGURATIVELY HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON!

  2. Great Poem Ron, and I agree, end the violence. But how? One way is to bring back the draft and get these young trouble makers off the streets.
