You Speak~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

You Speak

You speak of a love divine
You speak of a life entwine

I wake up every morning
You stay sleeping and dreaming
Deflect sun’s rays with awning
Real life awaits yawning

You speak of a love divine
You speak of a life entwine

My eyes filled with unshed tears
My whole face bloodied mud smears
Shrank away from pains and fears
Pleadings your ears nothing hears

You speak of a love divine
You speak of a life entwine

You slouch, listen to Brahms
Bored to death of life humdrums
I listen to rifle’s hum
Bored to death by knife’s sharp gloom

Spirit’s conundrums think not
We are of different lot
Heart wrenched tied into knots
No line to connect the dots
