I HEAR THE RAIN~by Rajendra Padhi

I HEAR THE RAIN

I love the rain that waves upon frowning clouds
Dissolving me in its depth of falling notes in a sea,
I sit like an unloved guest in solitude in my home
The rain as my sad damsel continues in infinite tears.

The rain is heavy on flowers in my garden, I hear
Pulling each to the ground to wither fast,
It is wise to be quiet when noises of rain soar around
Falling over the green grass gives a new tune to violin.

Tear drops are crystal like water shine in lightening
Never ends from crevices of eyes in hours of pain,
The heart is twisted like boughs of tree in the wind
Grief-stricken I hear music of silence as a gift of rain.

I will win back the rainbow in the morn with sun
Rain walks away from nightly pain as vapor and mist,
I put myself again to the world in its maddening tides
Caress the green world as a gift of rain of lonely nights.
