Comparison~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Comparison

Shall I compare you to the mighty sun?
Hot and cheesy like a freshly baked bun
No, for when nighttime comes you shall be gone

Shall I compare you to a bright full moon?
Under which lovers rendezvous and swoon
No, for you shall change your face soon

Shall I compare you to the desert sand?
A golden grain so mystical and grand
No, for you shall be shifting across the land

Shall I compare you to a butterfly?
That flutters its silky wings to say hi
No, for to other flowers you shall fly

Tell me love, to what shall I compare you?
With your flowery words that’s heard by few
Flowing from your pen, to whom is it due?
