Hi Hello Goodbye~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Hi Hello Goodbye

You said ‘Hi’ and I said ‘Hello’
And I awaited for words to follow
My breathe held on, feet no where to go
And goosebumps on my skin started to show

Lips started to smile as eyes glow
A strand of hair falls as you lean down
And time stood still ’round the busy town

Your name’s often embedded on a crown
So when you asked for my name
It’s a common flower, I said with shame
Cheeks burning with a blood I can’t tame

Oh to be young is so much lame
You teased my having sweet strawberry face
I would have swooned if it wasn’t such disgrace
To the cheerleader who took your arm with grace

I wondered what got me into this case
With your warm eyes telling me ‘Goodbye’
I sighed and looked up at the blue sky
I wondered feebly the reason why
You asked for my name after saying ‘Hi’
