Melancholy~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Melancholy

Sadness seems to come with time
Nothing is constant but change’s chime
All left are landmarks of what once was
Knowledge even those will come to pass
Yet wheels of life turns onwards
No choice but move on forwards

There is no way to turn back time
All we have is the sound of wind chime
The memories of what once was
Knowledge that even those will come to pass
Yet we have to forge onwards
Past is our life’s sweet rewards

Sadness will surely ebb in time
All the joys and pains will rhyme
Gratitude will fill for what once was
Contentment for what now one has
Time when we need to lay down the cards
It shall happen but not until we’ve enjoyed our rewards
