Icicles in his Heart~by Karen King

Icicles in his Heart

Her hot breath and fiery words,
Melted the heart of many a man.
She was, amorous, ambitious.
Such a colourful challenge!

Her beautiful face softened them
As they found themselves
Inexplicably drawn.
There was no escaping!

Her words, her manner
Captured their hearts.
Like fish captured in nets,
Awaiting their destiny!

His words warmed the page,
His imagination soared.
Beautiful and bountiful.
Like peacocks in paradise!

He was cold as ice in reality,
Dismissive, distant,
Pre-occupied, distracted.
His was colder than Jack Frost!

Her thoughts, her poems,
Inspired him as never before.
But he did not realise.
A sub-conscious act!

Her myriad of subjects,
To entice and invite.
To make readers think.
The world was her oyster!

His poetry flowed,
Words, thoughts, styles.
He felt inspired.
He was drowning in words!

His papers cascaded,
Like a waterfall.
His pen flowed,
Deeply, in the ocean depths!

His coldness of character
Made her heart harden,
And her words became arid,
Like the desert.

She turned away,
To find dreamy depths
In the lakes of love elsewhere.
There were icicles in his heart!
