Just a Dream~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Just a Dream

I woke up, with the sun shining bright
The scent of coffee and newly cooked breakfast
Greeted by green grass and fresh crop sight

Multi colored children playing in the yard
I see a neighbor, child fights off to ward
Love and discipline, they will not be of want

A stranger, helping old neighbor to cross
A busy street, where cars stop to let them pass
Gestures by chatterers, to help foreign words across

Poor teens age boys, doing odd jobs
Icy juice jars with cookies on tray for them
Mayor, laughing with tourist at the corner hem

Teachers with students, walking to school
No policeman I see around,
Must be resting at the fair ground

I waved at an ex-homeless, painting his house
Was that the billionaire’s wife, planting his rose?
The Priest, Imam, Reverent and Monk having tea.

I opened my eyes and I cried
It was all but just a dream frown emoticon
