Brother Tell Mother~by Norman Wilson

Brother Tell Mother

We walked out into the sunshine before the dew
When she told me, I was the last lover after you
My eyes swelled up in teary-eyed surprise
For I found out I was living in a world of her lies

I am truly sorry my brother my friend
For I did not know she had seen you and other men
I cannot live another day in her lies
For the pain has claimed my heart when I cry

I shall not see her again as I am walking away
It is purely my own choice if I go or stay
Please do not tell me what to do or say
All I know brother I will be long gone today

The road has no brothers for the traveling man
He is alone kicking up dust in the sand
So brother if you wish to reach out for her hand
Then you keep the faith; keep the faith if you can

My journey is still down that lonely road
A road that only the traveling man can go
And brother tell our mother someday I will be back
After I have found true love in life’s lonely tracks
