Mighty Grace~by Hela Tekali

Mighty Grace

Earth has nothing but to stand:
Would it be for a soul just fairy land
A spotlight sensual in its majesty:
This Planet now doth like green scenery
The beauty of sunrise; silent, fair,
Trees, mountains, birds, flowers nude and dare,
Open unto the land, and to the sky;
All fresh and sparkling in the cleaned air
Ne’er did hill more beautifully steep
In his first presence river, rock or meadow;
Ne’er saw I, never felt, a silence so deep
The sky smiles at his own sweet rainbow;
Dear God! the very butterflies seem asleep;
Only thy Mighty Grace is lying still!
