Daily missive for Thursday the 31st of March.~ Sensory gardens for the soul.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Thursday the 31st of March.
Sensory gardens for the soul.

There are moments
When everything
Even awkward corners
Come together,
Melding
Into a whole.
An envelope for the soul
When the harshest
Blast of a cold wind
Is a way to experience
The rush of blood
That comes with life.
The scratch of a dry twig
Against the skin
A welcome relief
From the prick
Of a sterile needle.
The cry of an old fox
A magical haunting
Breaking into
Fevered dreams
Which grow more real
And uncontained when
Every dose
Of doctor’s
Godly orders
Is so much more
Than primrose oil,
A poultice of bread and cloves
But is poison enough
To fell a horse.
A liquid cosh
To still the savage heart
And render
Escape from the
Inside
An impossible task
Without the aid
Of a lovers tryst
To guide you
Through a labyrinth
Of sequestered scars
Rarely healed,
Meant to bleed
But slowly
As you lie
Bound in old wounds
And in this sacred trust
You are brought
Safely
To the boundary
Of this garden
Paradise
Where love grows
And no more harm
Befalls you.
