Shadows on the Wind~by Norman Wilson

Shadows on the Wind

Please speak softly
Then tippy toe
To the sounds of the sparrow
Where the shadows of the wind goes

Hearken back to the sparrow
Tweeting in the green of a holly tree
In the quaintness of coverings
Ruffling from a shadowy breeze

When I had looked deep into the tree
Listening to the chirping shadows
Where the wind blew gently
As the crispness of fresh leaves raddled

I could see the sparrow tweeting
With chest puffed out fully in the light
As the winds became fleeting
When the shadows edged towards the night

Give reflection to what dwells in the light
Then disappears into tomorrow
In the black of falling night
While the winds cry out their sorrow

The sounds of the sparrow has ended
As I slowly tiptoed away
In the shadows of the winds of tomorrow
Assisting the sparrow, as it flew into a new day
