The Loch Ness Monster~by Karen King

The Loch Ness Monster

This eighty-year-old dragon surfaces to the water.
So far, he has remained hidden.
Oh yes, there have been rumours,
he has even captured him on film, but people are sceptical.
Oh yes, the paranormal investigators know.
But the scientists still doubt.
He likes this. He enjoys being mysterious.
He is the secret of the lake.
Sometimes people search, but many have given up,
deciding it’s just a myth.
It is safe in the winter. No tourists.
The boat trips have stopped.
Few fishermen fish here,
preferring their whiskies and log burning fires.
He surfaced, sending giant ripples through the lake,
across to the other side.
He looked at the snow on the tips of the mountains
and enjoyed this scene he had been admiring for the last eighty years!
