Pupils
My pupils stare at the whiteboard.
Once there was a blackboard.
But things are different these days,
The schools have changed their ways.
No longer squeaky chalk,
Making your eyes stand out on stalks.
No just use a special pen on the board,
Interactive lessons so the kids aren’t bored!
I watch as thirty sets of pupils stare,
Bottoms glued to their chairs.
It seems that multi-coloured ink
Really makes them stop and think.
Yes, perhaps the modern way is best,
When you really put it to the test.
But I for one preferred the squeaky chalk,
When the noise it made meant we could talk.
