Swerved lane~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Swerved lane

How I hate to be swerved
back to locked memory lane
A place where I was served
the greatest fear and pain
How the Muse is unnerved
her lines dragged with strain

To grovel and beg down
before those owed you more
Others sneered with frown
as you cry and kneel before
Helpless as anguish drown
threat of babe’s loss in store

Ah Muse help me focus
to now where all is secure
Past is over now, bogus
fruit now strong and mature
Grief not be heart’s locus
torture no more to endure

To forgive is to forget
how can a memory delete
Again and again I get
Reminders for spirit deplete
My life in past unreset
Words, again my flame do lit
