Pots of Paint~by Karen King

Pots of Paint

I stir you into my pots of paint,
Emotions mixing, emotions meandering,
Forming a rainbow of thoughts.
Love, romance, frustration, worry,
All are stirred into the waiting pot.

I take my brush, gingerly,
Clasping it in my hand,
Painting you on my walls.
A few drips drool down my arm,
Like tears from my eyes.
Sad that it is too late for us,
For you say your life,
Has started to fade,
Like my old, dusty walls.

I will persevere,
For I am not one to give up.
Optimistically, I plunge my brush
Once more into the shiny pot,
Full of new beginnings.
A fresh start, a gleaming future,
Is painted onto my walls.
It Is waiting, if only you could see.
