SMILES~by Tukur Loba Ridwan

SMILES

i have seen the aura of happiness
lowered upon the earth by the sun
in animations of yellow smiles
but this one by which i am enthralled
stole my gaze and took to a place
with no name, from the frames of a portrait
that homes a woman from a nearby distance.
it all started like a story waiting to be told
from a point where the lips were tied
from both sides, curving upwards
like the shape of a bow,
but not without an arrow that thrusts
into the hearts of allured men
by the gracefulness of a woman’s face.
this gracefulness is the trait of venus
and her natives – the graceful women.
her smile sums ups the whole story
on the tip of my pen…and paper.
