Daily missive for Friday the 29th of April.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Friday the 29th of April.

There is wonder
In the world
I have come to know
It can be very hard to find
But in the half light
When the air is wet
With morning dew
The tears of yesterday
Washing the midnight
Out of the sky
And turning the tide.
Why resist the urge
To follow the surge
Of emotion
That accompanies
The restless moon
On its plunge into the sea.
Follow it down
Into the hollow
Of the ocean bed
Lie with the ancients
Waiting for the sunrise
Watching as love dies
Over the yard arm
And death is wrapped
In a comfort blanket
Of broken glass
A bed full of sorrows
Until the black caps cry
In a sunbeam
Of shards and splinters
That glister with the
Soul of a rainbow
And before you know it
Behold the magic
Of morning.
A timely rescue
For the fretful heart
Brought forth
From a deepening trough
Of its own making.
