Sinking Ships~by Karen King

Sinking Ships

The sinking ships passed her in the night,
The sinking ships were once a delight.
Desperately, she had clung to the buoys,
Until she realised they made nothing but noise.
The buoys were merely floating devices,
Some full of nasty surprises.
The ships and the buoys couldn’t deliver the goods,
They were all talk. At least she understood.
They were either overloaded and sank,
Or they drifted as if in a floatation tank.
She decided to swim, to stay alone and afloat,
She needed no buoy, ship or boat!
