Sleepyhead~by Norman Wilson

Sleepyhead

Wake-up wake-up
Wake-up sleepyhead
You have slept to long
To long in your bed
The cock has crowed
Down the road
And the clock keeps going
Tick-tock, tick-tock

It is time to rise
Then run my son
Before the daylight
Is truly done
So wake-up
Wake-up sleepyhead
Come out from under
Your quilted threads

Your mother is in the kitchen
Baking bread
Your brother Ricky
Is out riding his sled
While you still lay asleep
In your bed
So wake-up
Wake-up my sleepyhead

Would this not make for a great children’s book.
Illustrated with a boy sleeping, a rooster crowing, clock ticking
a boy sledding, etc. etc.,
