Three Niner Alpha~by Norman Wilson

Three Niner Alpha

It is a furnace of peculiar degrees
So sundown bring your orange sky for me
Comeback to a place I cannot hide
Then set the coyote loose on the road before I die

I hear the war cries in the purple sands
Too hot to be red within my hands
So feed me a cup of water to quench my brain
As I lay in the compound praying in the barren terrain

A clear three niner alpha rings in my air waves
Spurring on the war for another day
As I wonder if their having roast beef back home
While I craved for a cool beer here all alone

So bring the orange sunset to a quick draw
Then let the orange melt away in a dark thaw
Where the war is a clear three niner alpha away
So I might find the Lion of the Desert another day
