Forever Tied~by Karen King

Forever Tied

He had too many ties.
He started to sail across the ocean,
But his boat was too small.
It took too long.
He felt like he was being weighed down
By a heavy metal anchor.
He bobbed on the waves,
Like a drowning buoy.
He realised he would never need that tie.
He picked up the phone and told his love.
He felt tongue-tied and deflated,
Like a disappointed dinghy.
He turned back and tied his boat up
And tied himself to his side of the Atlantic.
Forever.
