POET UNDER WATER!!!!! ANYBODY HAVE A SPARE SNORKEL????
The deluge heavy in sheets,
Submerged many town streets…
To each deep puddle
The car struggled,
Lunging forward in eaters deep!
–
Rarely came through in the rain,
This gully-washer was insane…
Had no history
On where ponds would be,
Cruising along Douglas Main.
–
Deep waters came up as spray,
From vehicles headed my way…
Talk about splash—
By my own I was lashed,
No other cars near to blame!
–
I’m so glad the car didn’t stall,
I’d have floated away, that’s all…
Like that VW ad.
The flooding was bad,
But in summer–no ice at all!
–
Running downtown was a wash,
Submerging by a giant wave splash…
Periscope depth
We could have crept,
But made it with certain panache.
