Broken Promises~by Russel Edles

Broken Promises

You’ve promised me of eternal love to live
But why am I here alone on the night of grief?
A hurricane of loneliness, ripping my soul
Where is the dawn that you’ve promised?

Why can’t I escape my feelings?
I want to hide this inevitable affection
You brought me passion to live
Yet abandoned in the desert of dark cave.

I am lost in this tough tunneling love
Those promises you’ve intended me to live is so abrasive
Depleting my hopes and braveness
To the extent I am buried alive.

I am not stingy with understanding and affection
But I am tired I want to rest even for a moment
With a blind fold of darkness in my eyes
And let the morning dew cover my wearied heart.
