Our Love~by rldubour

Our Love

As I sit here with just a dim light glowing.
I look up and see your face, a smile and somehow I know.

I gently fold my paper and place it to my side.
I look up once more and suddenly I realize.

I realize what you mean to me, now and our whole life through.
I reach to touch your hand as if to say, my love belongs to you.

Your response is like an angels prayer, with your soft blue eyes, your golden hair.
Darling, to me you are beyond compare.

Then my thoughts are spinning as if time were standing still.
I can see us at the beginning as we start our journey up that never-ending hill.

I see us when we first met it was a wonderful time.
As we walked side by side with your hand in mine.

As time passed on I grew so fond of you.
I knew I found a love that I would never want to lose.

Then as if time was ours, I asked you to be my wife.
The love that we shared together would make a wonderful life.

Our hearts were young but our love was big as anyone could see.
Darling, my greatest dream in life was for you to be with me.

Those days bring back good memories; I could see it in your eyes.
We took our vows and promised our love will never die.

We started at the bottom and we really had it rough.
And yet, somehow we managed because our love was strong enough.

Today we are a family, no longer just man and wife.
Today we have a home filled with love of life.

And we can say that we did this all on our own.
No one can take this away, for this is but our home.

My darling the things you do, to make our wonderful life.
I thank the Lord everyday that He sent you to be my wife.

As I sit here with just a dim light glowing.
I look up and see your face and somehow I know.

I gently rise and take your hand and turn out the lights.
For we shall always have our love now and throughout our lives.
