Daily missive breaks into the weekend Saturday the 13th of August.
When I close my eyes
You are there
Waiting to meet me
Beneath the stars
High on a hill
That could be Glastonbury,
Silhouetted
Against a full moon.
It was a dream I had
Lying beneath an oak tree
With you,
My Guinevere,
Watching squirrels play
And become bolder.
As we lay still
Dappled by shadows
Stippling sunlight
Slipping into the meld.
Lancelot was a family name
Though not mine,
The only grail I sought was you.
We were part of
What we saw
And what we might become
When we were older.
As love beheld us
We were moved
Closer to the edge
Of the beginning
The sky an irresistible revolve
The heavens
A symphony of movement.
An impossible silence
Passed between us
As we were carried
Into the centre
Of all things
United in moon glow
Harmonised.
We were the song,
That accompanied creation.
I was sightless
Until you opened my soul
To the imagining.
I can see you now,
Hear what you said
With the stars in your eyes
The midnight sky screaming
In the dark,
Love never dies.
It is the energy
That turns full circle
And in the purity
Of its resolve
Salvation
Truly lies.
