Bitter Taste~by Lilian Dipasupil Kunimasa

Bitter Taste

I am but one in a million in a line
How shall I make my star shine
Will my light with others entwine
Be a sparkle seen in goblet of wine

Or will I be forgotten in an old vat
In a rodent infested cellar I sat
Be ignored even by a vampire bat
Not to be touched by a curious pat

Can you blame me for being bitter
Outshined by those younger, sweeter
A constellation dot doesn’t matter
My chances for fame slowly wither

I see not those fermented wine
Patiently they wait without a whine
Sourness and bitterness they decline
In crystals, their smoothness shine

I am but a bitter taste of wine
