Daily missive breaks into the weekend Sunday the 15th of January.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive breaks into the weekend Sunday the 15th of January.

Dress it up in words
That sing
With musicality
Bloom with a burst
Of colour
Bring flowers to winter
Disguise thorns as fingers.
Broken claws
Wait to tear
The romantic wanderer
And the vibrant
Sky is discontent
With the plunder
Of another world.
What of death
When it exists
Even in summer.
There is a place
Of dreams
It is lost now
A Brigadoon
Of wonder
A secret only
You can know
It conceals the
Never ending
Or so I am told.
Perhaps it does
But the bramble
Is thickest before
The open flower
Its beauty to protect
And my fingers
Are too pricked
With the blood
Of all my trials
To reach out any further.
Come the turning
Of the season
The opulent luxury of leaves
Will soften their protection
And gently ease my way
Welcome my body
Down to lay
If that becomes
My choosing.
