Daily missive breaks into the weekend Saturday the 21st of January.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive breaks into the weekend Saturday the 21st of January.

Stay my hand.
Since the turning of a screw
Squeezed the life
From my soul
Leaving it wrung out
Limp and twisted
Dripping tears
On a wishing line
For the world to see
There has been
Execution in the air.
If there is reprieve
It will be in recognition
Of innocence
The smile of a child
In need of a guide
On a new journey
A natural dependence
The freeing of a
Renegade spirit
Engaging in fanciful flight.
How would it be accomplished
When my eyes are blind
To the possibility
Strange would be the chance
To live
In such circumstance.
Change is an accustomed
Happenstance
It has affected its mysteries
Upon this life
And wrought its
Episodic results
Into what remains of
My body.
Surely the hope will grow
In the establishment
Of a new trust
As the greater loss
Would be to say no
To the love
That has been unearthed
Take heed of the moment
Stay that hand.
