Herds of Another Colour
Sanctimonious dogs hold tight an invisible leash,
frothing at the bit, a killer rides hard the trail.
In pretence displayed loves grandest release,
hence a poor mans back no support entailed.
A repertoire denoting a performance for hire
every crease, every line buried deep leather-ed skin.
Projecting forth sour voices in a blaze of hellfire
no one stands in admission such beasts may be kin.
See the need of acceptance become a lifetime task,
bent knees, palms up, eyes flushed red in pain.
Fire water abundantly fills gray clouded flasks
one observes old time blues back lash again.
A weary soul carries long, heavy pounds of steel
loathing the hands of societies crowned finest.
In silence thickened tongues no truth revealed,
blindfolded are those considered the highest.
