Daily missive for Friday the 27th of January.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Friday the 27th of January.

Is there room enough
Between the pages
Even with the book
Tightly shut
Pressing flowers
Weighted into
The summary of our lives
Gathering dust
As the days pass
With little time left
For redirection
Is there room enough
Do the words still breathe.
When last we sat together
Planning for the future
Planting seeds
To further growth
Tilling the soil
Of fertile imagining
Writing in the margins
A narration
Of our times
Did we ponder
The possibility
Of such a solitary
Confinement.
Did we leave such
An imprint on the
Bounded page as to
Comfort the broken days
If that be so
When will the
Weeping whisper
Seeping from the stack of
Tightly pressed leaves
Become a call
I will surely answer.
