Daily missive for Friday the 3rd of February.~by Peter Forster

Daily missive for Friday the 3rd of February.

Unteathered
Unbridled
Unencumbered by degree
Walking a new path
Little different in aspect
But when viewed
From an alternate perspective
The colours have changed
Dulled by a constant
Drain of sunlight
They are wan and pallid
Vibrancy once riotous
A subdued
Copper toned erosion
More suited to late night
Rambles
The receding milky crescent
A timid presence
Take it away
Rip the tired wrapping
From this sun bleached
Chocolate box confection
The bloom
Less than inviting
A mildewed image
In need of rescue
Perhaps uprooting
Would be the kindest cut
But not of it
As its recovery
Will be tastefully tended
Whereas my own
Will need a firmer
Disposition
Immune to the bitter harvest
Of disappointed dreams
To prune dead growth
And rediscover
The seeds of life
That may yet
Lie dormant
In the greenhouse
Still standing in
A garden full of secrets
Buried
In the sand box of my soul.
