HICCUPPING SPRING~by Saroj K Padhi

HICCUPPING SPRING

Darling buds of Spring are having a tough time
efflorescing with hitches inside their aching being
at odds with a topsy-turvied clime
that disturbs Nature
distorting the music of time,
the wind plays truant like my Love
that promised to return in a sweet April dawn
to caress the flowers in my heart’s garden
where koels round the clock sing !

but alas our intimate friend, the Sun
a sudden Summer does now bring
forcing eros to be on a faster foot
when scented dust of the last bout of Spring
rises from the hooves of a bull in the field
where a heifer to his advances does yield
smelling aroma in rain of pure animal love
when humans hide behind shutters
to avoid a burning Sun
and the so-called offending hot scene !
