UNFINISHED~by Indira Sadanandan

UNFINISHED

The night was the day for me
I stayed awake
I was trying to write the apt words,
To fix the prefixes and suffixes
At the exact context,
To pave the way to each line
To set the syntax in the correct position
To avoid comas , at it’s maximum
To discard punctuations
Wherever it had given chances for
Tired I, slanted on the bed
Had a sleep with snoring.
Knocking at the door,
Once, twice, thrice
Opened me ,my eyes
In the dim light of the bedroom lamp
I saw the door knob being turned
Repeatedly.
I got up,walked to the door
And opened it,
There I saw my poem to enter the room
As my unfinished dream.”
