OUT OF REACH~by Balachandran Nair

Looking at a monkey, one always expect
……………….something funny, interesting
Looking at wild beast, one always expect
………………………..something horror, roar
Looking at peacock, spread and dance
Looking at dark cloud, thunder and rain
Looking at ocean, waves n fishing boats
Looking at horizon, color n setting sun
Looking at sports, thrilling win n trophies
Looking at children, smiles and mischief
Looking at parents, guidance and care
Looking at siblings, protection and warmth
Looking at friends, all of the above
Looking at sweet heart, love n sweet dreams
Agreed, every one wants to get something
Grab something or else according to taste
But what shall we look for, let alone ask for
We, old-aged ones ushered in orphanage
Ordained to ordeal by none other than
Our own children, to accommodate,ah!
Their own children in same home we built,
Now funny, for us the world is out of reach!
