The Walls~by Nakshatra Singh

The Walls

I made the wall,
To stop the winds,
I made my world stale,
Winds stopped not.
I drew my curtains,
To stop scorching sun,
The sun shone bright,
I made my world dark.
I made the barbed fence,
To stop the wild beasts,
I shrank my world,
They remained free.
I made the borders,
Scratch on mother’s chest,
Put armed guards too,
To stop the enemy,
I confined myself,
I hurt my mother,
No enemy ever stopped,
Yes my effort worked,
To stop the love perhaps.
